RUMBA Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is RUMBA?Rincon/University Marching Band Association is a volunteer organization that supports the artistic growth of band students personally and financially. Who is on the RUMBA board?
When does RUMBA meet?
What does RUMBA do?We provide support for the band students by helping meet their needs and supporting the program. This includes chaperoning bus trips, transporting and serving water for a thirsty marching band, helping to move equipment, maintaining and distributing uniforms, cheering on our Ranger Band at football games and competitions, providing refreshments during band camp, as well as helping to raise money.(more on that later) How is the $30.00 TUSD fine arts fee used? The TUSD fine arts fee is used for competition fees, bussing expenses, student awards. Why does RUMBA need money? Many needs are not met by TUSD. To offer our kids a great experience and to make the band program run smoothly, RUMBA raises money to pay for things that are needed. For example, when the TUSD equipment truck breaks down, RUMBA steps in to rent one so our band can perform as scheduled. RUMBA helps defray the costs of music licensing, drum major training camp, instructional staff to assist with the marching band program. RUMBA has also helped raise funds to purchase equipment, such as lighting and microphone systems. So how can I help?
What are other financial responsibilities of band parents?
